Coaching for Difficult and Limiting Emotions

Difficult emotions or restrictive behavioural patterns do not go away by themselves. To start off with, it requires the will to change. Will you allow yourself to live a life with more peace and emotional balance?

The impact of emotions

Emotions are a natural and important part of being human. They give colour and meaning to what we experience. But sometimes they can also start to control our lives and form an obstacle to a happy and fulfilled existence.

Time for action

If that is the case, then it’s time to take action. An effective way to work on this is to engage a coach or therapist. A coach/therapist can work with you to inventory where you are now, where you would like to go in your life and what is needed or stands in the way of that. A coach/therapist then guides you in this process.

Working on transformation

With coaching around limiting emotions, we work together to recognize and change these patterns within you. It is not about suppressing emotions – quite the opposite. By acknowledging emotions, understanding where they come from and what they are trying to tell you, space is created for processing and transformation.

We investigate which triggers evoke certain emotional reactions and which underlying causes and beliefs underlie this. You then develop new strategies to deal with these emotions, so that they no longer limit your choices and possibilities.

An important aspect of coaching for difficult emotions is increasing self-compassion. Instead of judging or suppressing your emotions, you learn to acknowledge them and deal with them in a healthy way.

A combination of methods

I use NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) as a foundation for how I work. This is a solution-oriented method that is very practical and has proven to be effective. In addition, as a counselor I am also trained in person-centered therapy, which means that I see you as a person with potential, not as a complaint or a diagnosis. I also apply mindfulness and components of cognitive behavioural therapy during the coaching process.

Some people come for two sessions, others for ten. I do not believe in standard programs, because they rarely work for everyone. I let the process unfold naturally, and you always decide where the coaching takes you.

  3. Free from cancellation fees – life happens! If it is not the right time, that is completely okay. You shouldn’t be punished for needing some space.

  4. Support between sessions – you are not alone. You can always contact me between sessions if you have questions or worries.

  • Online session: Prepayment by means of a payment request
  • Live session: A payment request before or after each session.
  • Invoicing for companies is also possible.

I work online with clients from all over the world, as well as with people from Zoetermeer and the surrounding area at my home practice, in both English or Dutch.
