Stress

Stress is a natural response of your body to challenges or threats. It helps you stay alert and focused. Short-term stress can be useful, but long-term or intense stress can be harmful to your mental, emotional and physical health.

What stress can feel like:

  • Physical: A rushed, restless or tense feeling. Headaches, stomach complaints or tense muscles are common.

  • Emotional: Irritability, frustration, gloominess, anxiety or the feeling of being constantly under pressure.

  • Mental: Difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness or suffering from worrying thoughts.

Stress often arises when you take on too much or want to do too much at once, in combination with too little quality rest. You have difficulty relaxing and feel like you are constantly “on”.

Overload – Exhaustion – Burnout

Long-term stress can lead to overload, exhaustion or ultimately a burnout. Your body and mind get worn out and depleted. The difference between each one lies in the severity and duration of the complaints.

Having experienced more stress than you can handle, you feel constantly overwhelmed and over-asked. The feeling of overload is persistant and limits your daily functioning to varying degrees.

What overload, exhaustion and burnout can feel like:

  • Extreme fatigue: You are constantly tired, even after resting. You no longer have the energy to perform your daily tasks.

  • Emotional exhaustion: You feel empty and lethargic. Every emotion feels too much for you. Anxiety or depression can also manifest themselves.

  • Irritability: You quickly become irritated or angry, or you cry at the slightest thing.

  • Sleeping problems: You have difficulty falling asleep or sleeping through the night and have restless nights.

  • Concentration problems: You have trouble focusing and thinking clearly. Everything feels like a mental fog.

  • Physical complaints: You may experience headaches, muscle pain, stomach complaints or other physical symptoms.

  • Feeling of loss of control: You feel like you have lost control of your life and you can no longer stay positive.

Ask For Help

It is important to take the signs of stress, overload, exhaustion or burnout seriously. If you notice that you are suffering from stress symptoms for a long time or are starting to feel overstretched constantly, seek help in time to reduce the risk of burnout. In the case of a full on burnout, seeking help is an absolute priority.

A coach, therapist or GP can help you tackle the causes of your stress and find balance in your life again, so that you are able to recover.

You are not alone. Stress, overload, exhaustion and burnout are very common. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Doing nothing worsens the situation and ultimately makes your recovery more difficult than necessary, and that would be a loss.

Do You Recognize the Signs?

Do you recognize yourself in these signals and do you want to do something about it? Don’t wait any longer and contact me, without any obligation. Together we will look at what you need to regain control of your life and how coaching can help you.

Coaching as a Solution

Unfortunately, stress, overload, exhaustion and burnout do not go away by themselves. It all starts with the will to change. The question is: are you worth creating a better life for yourself?

An very effective way to work on stress and burnout is to hire a coach or therapist. A coach/therapist can work with you to identify where you are now, where you would like to go in your life and what is needed or what stands in the way of that. A coach/therapist then guides you through this process.

As a stress & burnout coach, I guide people who are stuck in stress, overload, exhaustion or burnout to a balanced life with more inner peace and energy. Whether you are struggling at work, are off sick at home or are in the middle of a reintegration process – I am there for you on the road to recovery.

I use NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) as a basis. This is a solution based approach that is very practical and proven to be effective. My approach focuses on four core areas: body, mind, soul and environment. I work with the ‘Chronic Stress Reversal’ method as a framework for recovery.

As a counselor, I am also trained in person-centered therapy. This means that I see you as a person with potential, not as a complaint or diagnosis. In addition, I also integrate mindfulness and components of cognitive behavioral therapy into my coaching.

A Safe Space

The fact that you are reading this now is a good sign. A part of you acknowledges that something needs to change in your life, that you no longer want to go on like this.

At the same time, it might feel scary. As humans, we tend to hold on to what we know, even if it is detrimental to our well-being. The fear of the unknown then takes over: “Better the devil you know”, as they say. This is very understandable.

Your sense of safety is therefore my priority. I do that from a place of ‘Sponsorship’. Sponsorship is about the following:

  • You are important.
  • You are seen and heard.
  • You are welcome.
  • You have something important to add to life.
  • You are valuable.

Basic attitude

The basic attitude from which I work is based on the following assumptions:

  • Every person is valuable, simply because you exist.
  • Every person has the right to a happy and valuable life.
  • There is nothing wrong with you.

My core values

I also work from a number of core values that are important to me. These are:

  • Safety
  • Calm
  • Sponsorship (I believe in you, even when you don’t)
  • Respect
  • Acceptance
  • Humour
  • Optimism

My experience shows that these are important conditions for helping you to be open and vulnerable, so that real change is possible.

Why people choose my guidance

  1. Everyone is welcome – as long as I feel that I can really help you.

  2. Full flexibility – it is your journey, at your pace, you are in the lead. I work on the basis of individual sessions, because everyone is different. Some people come for two sessions, others for ten. I do not believe in standard programs, because they rarely work for everyone. I let the process unfold naturally, and you always decide where the coaching takes you.

  3. Free from cancellation fees – life happens! If it is not the right time, that is completely okay. You shouldn’t be punished for needing some space.

  4. Support between sessions – you are not alone. You can always contact me between sessions if you have questions or worries.

  5. Multifaceted coaching – my sessions combine conversation, education, and powerful techniques to create real change.

  6. Guided by intuition, grounded in experience – I trust the process to unfold naturally as it should and let my intuition guide me, tailoring each session to what is needed at that moment.

  7. A focus on learning – there is no “must” in my coaching. I support you and nudge you where needed, but ultimately it is your journey and I respect your pace.

  8. All emotions are welcome – without judgement. Whether you feel stuck, overwhelmed or lost, you are welcome as you are.

  9. I believe in your inner wisdom – you already have the answers within you. My role is to help you discover them.

  10. My promise – you’re not a machine that needs fixing, but a unique human being with your own experiences, emotions, and challenges. What I promise is deep and meaningful work, my full commitment, and all that I have to offer in terms of knowledge and experience.

Clients come to me for my knowledge and experience, but especially for the safe environment in which they can work on their healing and growth, in peace and with compassion.

You are not alone. Many people today experience the pressure of a demanding life. Be assured: there is a way back to inner balance and energy.
